LinkedIn Editor Isabelle Roughol on Writing Great Blog Posts

A little more than a year ago I started blogging on LinkedIn. Since then, I’ve published more than 40 posts.

The response? Pretty remarkable.  My posts have attracted over 200,000 views, and tens of thousands of likes, social shares, and comments.

I’ve also met new people from around the world, made new friends, and have otherwise had a blast.

As most of you know by now, LinkedIn is the world’s largest online professional network, with over 347 million members.

Since opening their publishing platform to its members last year, tens of thousands of people have published posts there. 50,000 new posts are published each week.

That’s a lot of blog posts!

I know a lot of people continue to ask, “How do I write posts that get noticed? What are readers looking for? What are the editors at LinkedIn looking for? And how can I get my posts featured on Pulse, their publishing platform?”

I tackle these questions head on with my guest today, Isabelle Roughol. Isabelle is a senior editor at LinkedIn, based in Sydney. She relocated there recently after setting up LinkedIn’s editorial operations in Paris.

I’ve known Isabelle and her colleagues for well over a year now, since I’ve been publishing my posts on the platform. I’ve learned a lot from them, as well as from my own experience writing posts on almost a weekly basis.
